NHS staff from Sutton attend special Westminster Abbey service to celebrate landmark 70th birthday

Staff from NHS Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group attended a prestigious national celebration at Westminster Abbey today to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS. 

The NHS turns 70 today and the service pays tribute to NHS staff and patients who have contributed to the health service over the last 70 years.

Staff from Sutton CCG, joined around 2,400 NHS staff at the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, alongside representatives of charities, councils, and other key partners who work with the NHS.

Dr Jeff Croucher, Chair, Pippa Barber, Governing Body Member - Independent Nurse, Lucie Waters, Managing Director and Alison Tye, Continuing Care Team attended on behalf of Sutton CCG.

Dr Jeff Croucher, local GP and Chair, NHS Sutton CCG said:  "I've worked for the NHS locally for many years and it has been a real privilege representing Sutton CCG with my colleagues at Westminster Abbey for the 70th Birthday service of celebration.
