Sitting Netball

Sitting Netball was piloted in 15 of our Sutton care homes over a four month period, and the results reveal an improvement in social, mental and physical wellbeing. Read more about the outcomes of the pilot in the evaluation report (and one page infographic), and understand the positive benefits this fun and interactive exercise can have for residents.

Through fun, interactive and multisensory workshops in drama, music, film, dance, visual and digital art, they aim to give voiceless communities a renewed sense of self-esteem, confidence, independence, and a platform to have their voices heard​.

Working with Sutton College, the Vanguard has developed an introduction to volunteering course for students interested in a career in social care. The aims of the seven week course are to increase the number of volunteers working in care homes and to provide work experience within social care.
